USPS 100th Anniversary Celebration
Cocoa Beach Sail and Power Squadron attached their ceremonial 100th Anniversary banner to the District Ensign at a luncheon held at the Port Canaveral Yacht Club on 27 September. Beginning with a presentation of the colors by the Brevard County Sherrif's Color Guard, the squadron welcomed numerous local dignitaries as well as the NAO, V/C Louis Ojeda, SN. Each dignitary presented a short speech congratulating UPSP on its 100th year of service and dedication to safe boating. As the District Commander brought forth the Ensign, Cdr. Gerard Meunier, SN attached the banner. The Ensign, with banners from each squadron in the D23 will be presented at the National Conference in Jacksonville, Florida for final commemoration of this Centennial Celebration.
